Animation Storage

Discovered By Powerstar9

By swimming towards an object where Link normally jumps to get out of the water (like a dock), but stopping before actually jumping out, you can trick the game into storing the jump animation, and then use it somewhere else.

By using this technique, it is possible to get on top of things with low height. A use of it is accessing Turtle Rock without saving the Turtles.

  1. Be in water and facing a dock (or any other surface that Link can use to jump out of the water.)
  2. Hold both the control stick towards the dock, and the B button.
  3. Release both once Link has made contact with the dock, before he jumps out of the water.
  4. Slowly swim (using ONLY the control stick, nothing else) to something else, like a wall.
  5. Link will jump when he touches something else.

If any animation other than simply swimming is started while the jump animation is stored, the animation storage will be cancelled. This includes diving, swimming fast, and getting hit by enemies.
