Notes about rupee route

  • Drops from RNG aren't counted, but will be noted in the route. If a monster should be killed because it always drops rupees, it will be noted in the route (i.e. one Red Soldier in Hyrule Castle, etc.).

  • Both Maiamais and Heart Pieces found in the Rupee Rush minigames should be gotten together, to save time. (As in 1 game for Hyrule and 1 game for Lorule.) A x3 multiplier should also be gotten in both Rupee Rushes, as they are normally good places to gain a lot of easy money (especially the Lorule one).

  • Be careful when buying the items so you don't accidentally rent the Boomerang instead of buying it (which would add an extra 50 rupees to the total cost).

After Chest Minigame

  • What happens as far as rupees in chest game is very important for the rest of the route!!! The perfect luck is first try HP with 2 gold rupees. If you leave with over 650 rupees then you can buy the Fire Rod early and are pretty much set for rupees for the rest of the run. If you leave with under 650, you need to get the gold rupee in Dark Palace and may need the gold rupee in Swamp Palace. These are mentioned in the route, with relevant rupee counts.

  • Thieves' Hideout has a 50 rupees chest (Statues room) and a 100 rupees chest (cell in B3 after lowering the water) that are quick to get, in case you're not feeling confident about going into the Chest Minigame with however many rupees you have.

After Lorule Rupee Rush

  • Needed: 1600 (1000 if bought Fire Rod early)
  • Backup: 74 rupees on ground in a backyard in Thieves' Town.
  • Backup 2: Kill the Ice Gimos just south of Treacherous Tower for a 100 rupees chest.

  • The route assumes no RNG rupees and pretty bad chest game luck, so ends Lorule Rupee Rush with 1439 rupees instead of the required 1600, however in a run with the RNG rupees and the listed backups you will be fine, as long as you follow the requirements for when you need to get extra gold rupees.
