Slime Eel Skip

This trick lets you get the instrument really quickly without needing to fight Slime Eel at all. There are 2 main variants of this trick, known as Hookshot Rocket and Hookshot Ride. The difference is that with Hookshot Rocket, you cannot pick up the hookshot and have to reenter the dungeon to grab it, losing roughly 30 seconds to Hookshot Ride

Hookshot Rocket (Recommended)

This uses a bomb to launch the hookshot while it is stuck between Link's head and the held bomb, taking Link with it

This is a version that is slower, but gives less room for error

Hookshot Ride

This uses the force of Link jumping onto the hookshot while it is bouncing to launch the hookshot while standing on top of it. Unfortunately, due to our lack of a proper understanding, we do not yet have a proper tutorial for this
