Gem Routing

Sometimes, the first stage can be a bit of a gatekeeper due to Gem-RNG.
There are two Gem Rains & one Gem Fountain with highly fluctuating outcomes.
For the Gem Rains, the 100 Gem is guaranteed, but the amount of 5s and 20s is random.
The big Blue Soldier at the end either drops a 100 or a 150.

Ideally, you want
300+ leaving the House Screen
700+ entering the Bridge Screen
1100+ entering the Solider Fight

If possible, it is recommended to get the Combo Counter to 30.
This will yield 110 Gems total and is especially helpful when going for Boomerang Skip.
The route encounters 37 enemies, so even if you get hit at the beginning, you can still reach 30.

House Screen: 0->5 (SL + 4 Octorok)
1st Gem Rain: 5->9 (SL, 2 Octorok, 1 Blob)
Bridge: 9->30 (21 Soldiers)
Soldier Fight: 7 Backup

Boomerang Skip

With Pickup-Clipping, you no longer depend on the Boomerang to obtain the Small Key.
Perform a simple 1-Tile C-Right-Clip to bypass the wall.
Make sure to clip one tile above the middle so you can easily pick up the key without getting the textbox.

Backyard Skip

Discovered by Lttp

While entering the house, start holding Up-Left, R and C-Up until the Links get into the lifting animation.
Make sure to not cancel the animation. The Firerod should spawn next to the Links.
To skip the conversation with the NPC inside the house, either
exit the house and then use the Boomerang to pull the Firerod onto the TV screen
or grab the Firerod inside the house and then hop into the door

Bridge Early

This skips the entire section past Tingle, shortening the stage drastically.
For a long time, GBA OoB was used, but it got replaced with Pickup-Clipping for better consistency.

Pickup-Clipping

This PUC requires Green to be next to the GBA entrance, horizontally aligning with the 3rd rock seen on the left.
Before switching, you need to wait a little or else water mechanics will move Green downwards, jeopardizing a successful clip.
After the pickup, buffer C-Right and Right on the controlstick.
After clipping, either roll before pressing X or slash the soldiers.
Otherwise Purple will get hurt upon being switched to, ruining your gem combo.

GBA OoB

Stay close to the wall, enter the bridge while the Links are in C-Right and perform GBA OoB.
After exiting the bridge again, switch to a different Link and reunite.

Skip the First Chasm

Console Strategy by Sergi

Note: This antiquity is merely a memorial of an almost forgotten past.
When you get to the top of the waterfall, enter the middle cave. Get on the edge of the chasm against the right wall, then press c-right, followed by c-down, and then c-up immediately followed by a roll to begin a formation hover. Roll over to the other side and use a sword attack so that you see Red Link move forward and touch solid ground, then press X. After you've respawned, Red Link should be on the other side of the chasm.
