Get Item Manipulation

Get Item Manipulation is a memory manipulation glitch which allows you to receive the wrong item from an item drop. There are various methods to get Get Item Delay, which is the state in which you have collected an item drop which would give you a text box, but can move around freely. If you surface in water with Get Item Delay, you will receive the item you picked up. If you walk in front of a chest so that the A button says Open, or go near fish, bugs, spring water, or grabbable objects, you will receive a different item when you surface in water.

Get Item Delay Methods

With Zora Cape Turtle Cutscene

This allows you to GIM the Ocarina. This means you can get an ocarina back after Bottle Duping over it.

With Great Bay Temple Lilypad

This will crash all versions except Wii U VC unless you have enough hearts to stop the game from visually updating. This allows you to use the Map, Compass, Boss Key, and Small Key chests in Great Bay Temple to GIM the Light Arrows or Item 222.
