ZSRM18 Recap and ZSR News

The ZSR Marathon 2018 is over. After months of preparation, design and coding work we are incredibly proud of what all of us as a community accomplished. We managed to gather ~$4650 in donations benefitting JDRF and hope that this money can be used for a great cause.

Thank you to all of our participants, donors, prize sponsors and viewers alike! Without you, this event would not have been possible. While we can provide the framework, the organisation and the platform, there is no event without any of you and we're very grateful to be a part of this awesome community.

We will be back for another ZSRM next year and will work even harder to make it better. If you have any suggestions, criticism or ideas, please feel free to share them with us using this Feedback form.

In the next couple of months we will focus on another set of smaller events, community races, showcases and tournaments. We hope that you will tune in for these as well.

Currently planned is a Zelda 1 - 3 Relay Race, so stay tuned for more information about that.

We also want to use this post to give some updates about ZSR itself as well:

Our very own Bokoblins decided to leave the nest and pursue new challenges and stepped down from the ZSR staff. Thank you Vixy for everything you have done over the last few years. Your vision made all of these things possible and we are very happy we had you on board. Without you, there wouldn't have been a ZSR Marathon 2017 or 2018 and without you, the community wouldn't have been able to grow back together the way it did.
From all of us remaining we wish you all the best for your future and hope you will stay a part of our ZSRFamily. As a final contribution, Bokoblins put in personal money for a big share of the grand prize of this year's marathon, a Nintendo Switch, showing how invested and passionate he has been.

As some of you might noticed, the promised website changes have come to a hold. Sadly jobs and personal stuff got in the way of our web developers and updating the ZSR framework to a modern codebase has proven more timeconsuming than initially thought. With the ZSRM over we will try to focus more on these tasks and hope to give you an update soon.

Stay tuned for more updates, stay SNUG and keep running!

Oh, and if you are interested: There will be a ZSRM18 rerun on twitch starting tomorrow: twitch.tv/zeldaspeedruns
